50 Things You Should Know About Me:

1. I have irrational cravings for sour pickles and green mango’s with salt & vinegar.

2. I think wearing sweaters in 90 degree heat is not only appropriate, but stylish.

3. I write in Jamaica, my home is in Miami and my heart is in New York.

4. When people brush their teeth outside the bathroom it make me want to vomit.

5. Maybe I go to the movies twice a year. Maybe. Probably not though.

6. In addition to being a published online author, I am also a wicked bar tender.

7. Cooking isn’t my strength. Neither is cleaning.

8. My boyfriend’s name is Matthew. He aspires to become my ‘house husband’. I do too.

9. Interning at PAPER Magazine when I was twenty-two, made me suddenly appreciate the quirky world of underground journalism, fashion and celebrity gossip.

10. Cheese gives me migraines.

11. I graduated from the University of Richmond, in Richmond, VA.

12. I attended and graduated from two high schools. The first was Immaculate Conception in Kingston, Jamaica. The second was The Kent School in Kent, CT. I wish I could live these years again, they were so fun.

13. My first boyfriend was Shane DuQuesnay. He’s still a hottie.

14. My first love is a name I will not speak. I refer to him only as the NYX.

15. I’ve been known to be a tad moody.

16. People, on a whole, irritate me. I’m trying to remedy this by staying home more.

17. I may reference Lady L and Queen Josephine Himself in my blog. These are my two dearest friends from college. They are the funniest people I know.

18. I’m a big fan of musicals. But of course, I was a Theatre major, so no surprise.

19. I’m Greek, Lebanese and Mexican. I’m also 100% Jamaican and a 100% US Citizen. God Bless it!

20. Politically, I’m indifferent. I do not feel government has a place in the day to day lives of their people. They should simply butt out.

21. I’m learning to live on a limited water supply, though I hate it.

22. I like people who make me laugh.

23. Food is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I consume Healthy Choice Meals and Kit-Kat bars, spoon for spoon.

24. I don’t conform to the beauty standards dictated by society. Why would I? Society sucks.

25. I think blogs like this make people big-headed. Look at me, 25 things and I already feel like a duchess.

26. Running and swimming makes me happy. Not at first, but by the end.

27. I love Glee but never watch it.

28. I’m a walking contradiction. A white Jamaican, a woman who trivializes sex, a future stay-at-home-mom who doesn’t want kids and can’t cook or clean. Sheesh. It’s exhausting!

29. I used to sing and dance as a child. Turns out, I’m not as talented in that department as I thought.

30. I hated Mama Mia the musical, but loved the movie version.

31. When I lived in NY, my blog was top 3 in the ‘Romance & Relationships’ category for a year on myspace.com.

32. I am a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the Dramatic Honorary Fraternity. At least I was in college. Does anyone know how much longer I can say this considering I’ve never paid dues?

33. I am ticklish.

34. If you looked up ‘Amanda Hanna’ in the dictionary of life, it would say: Germaphobe.

35. Some people call me neurotic. Hmm.

36. My grandmother says I’m ‘very efficient’. It’s the greatest compliment anyone can pay me.

37. I look exactly like my mother. But our personalities are opposite. This weirds some people out.

38. When I was in college, I was in a band. For like, a day.

39. Grace Cornmeal Porridge has replaced cereal as my breakfast of choice.

40. I’ve stopped wearing polish on my nails. It’s just so….wrong.

41. Sometimes I’m a vegetarian. Sometimes I eat steak. Sue me.

42. I consider ‘jeans’ dressing up.

43. Writing makes me happy. So does blogging. I try to write and blog every day of life.

44. Karaoke is my most favorite thing to do in the world.

45. My ultimate dream is to own my own home and decorate it the way God and HGTV intended.

46. Since I was 17, I’ve wanted to be a novelist. I wrote my debut novel in twelve days and I’m writing 4 novels a year for the next four years. It’s my dream, I’m not giving up!

47. I speak Spanish when I’m drunk on Tequila.

48. Love to travel, hate to fly.

49. As I age, I grow more and more amused with taking a poop. I don’t know. That might make me weird. Or old.

50. Constantly people tell me that I’ll want kids when I’m older. Well I’m 28! When will this wanting a kid thing kick in?
